Position Summary: Cass County Dental Clinic is looking for a motivated, compassionate, full-time lead dentist to join our team now! Cass County Dental Clinic is a non-profit dental clinic committed to providing high-quality dental care for children ages 0-20 years old. We also provide care to the adult family members of children currently receiving care and pregnant people if insured through Missouri Medicaid. We are located just south of Kansas City, Missouri. Help us make a positive impact for the kids and families we serve! We’re excited to welcome a new dentist to our brand-new, state-of-the-art safety-net dental clinic, opened just last year. This is a unique opportunity to practice in a modern, fully equipped environment designed for efficiency and high-quality care. Our mission-driven team is committed to expanding access for underserved populations, giving you the chance to make a real impact every day. With strong clinical support, a collaborative culture, and a focus on sustainable workloads, this role offers both professional fulfillment and long-term balance.
Hours and Location: The full-time lead dentist will work Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Belton clinic. The dentist may be asked to provide coverage at the Harrisonville clinic, on occasion if needed due to PTO and/or leaves. The lead dentist will provide dentistry four days per week with the fifth day as an in-office day for administrative duties outlined in the job description. The lead dentist oversees 1 to 2 additional dentists plus RDH as it relates to clinical duties. The dentist will also provide dental services while patients are under general anesthesia on a schedule established by the clinic that aligns with the dentist’s regularly scheduled days or after consultation with the dentist. All services under sedation will be provided in Belton. Sedation hours are based on a schedule determined by the anesthesiology group, and patients are seen consecutively with no scheduled breaks. The dentist will provide dental services on children under general anesthesia 1-2 times per month on-site using a mobile anesthesia team.
Requirements: The right candidate is a strong leader, dependable, confident, empathetic, and comfortable working on children and teens. The dentist must be able to communicate well with both young patients and parents/guardians to ensure successful visits. Experience with SDF, GI restorations, Hall crown technique, and NuSmile zirconia crowns is preferred, but training can be provided. Ideally, the dentist will be confident in a wide range of skills, including permanent extractions, root canals, and crowns to reduce need for referrals. Referral relationships are in place but are limited due to a lack of specialists who accept Missouri Medicaid.
Benefits: The position includes health, dental, and vision insurance; SIMPLE IRA with 3% employer match, paid holidays, PTO, CE budget, malpractice insurance, and $25,000 student loan stipend with contract.
