“I think I’ve been a patient since this clinic started.”

Cass County Dental Clinic opened in Belton, Missouri in 2011. That same year, Sky Zheng started receiving his dental treatment at the clinic. His parents chose Cass County Dental Clinic due to its proximity to their home in Belton. In the past, they had been challenged to find a dentist that would accept their insurance and offer the care Sky needed.

For more than a decade now, Sky has relied on Cass County Dental Clinic to set him up for success. And his most recent appointment had no exceptions.

“I’ve just received a filling for a cavity and, like always, it barely hurts throughout the procedure.”

Cass County Dental Clinic creates access to treatment for children in surrounding communities. A burden was lifted for Sky and his parents when the clinic opened. He could receive proper oral health care close to home. Throughout the past decade, Sky has gotten older and moved farther away from the clinic, but the clinic remains part of his life. He returns for the consistency of care.

“I feel like I always get treated with kindness and gentleness. I barely feel any pain during procedures and I’m always getting checked on to see if I’m in any discomfort. I’ve also definitely become more disciplined when it comes to brushing my teeth. My smile has gotten better over the course of many years.”

Cass Community Health Foundation opened Cass County Dental Clinic in Belton, Missouri in 2011 to provide comprehensive oral health services for children and teens who are insured by Medicaid or who are low-income and uninsured. In 2023, the clinic served more than 4,000 children, exceeding capacity. As a result, Cass Community Health Foundation has launched a capital campaign, A Lifetime of Smiles, and broke ground for the clinic’s future home at 1000 E. Markey Parkway in Belton, Missouri. This location will increase clinical space and access for quality, compassionate dental care. The new Cass County Dental Clinic is a $5 million project. To help raise the funds necessary to complete the project, donate to the campaign or make a three-year pledge at casscommunityhealth.org/lifetimeofsmiles or call 816-276-4218.
