Position Summary: Cass County Dental Clinic is looking for a motivated, compassionate, full-time lead dentist to join our team now! Cass County Dental Clinic is a non-profit dental clinic committed to providing high-quality dental care for children ages 0-20 years old and pregnant women. We are located just south of Kansas City, Missouri. Help us make a positive impact for the kids and families we serve! The Clinic has a new building under construction and will be moving to this new location in April 2025 where children and adult family members will be served.
Hours and Location: The full-time lead dentist will work Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Belton clinic. The dentist may be asked to provide coverage at the Harrisonville clinic, on occasion if needed due to PTO and/or leaves. The lead dentist will provide dentistry four days per week with the fifth day as an in-office day for administrative duties outlined in the job description. The lead dentist oversees 1 to 2 additional dentists plus RDH as it relates to clinical duties. The dentist will also provide dental services while patients are under general anesthesia on a schedule established by the clinic that aligns with the dentist’s regularly scheduled days or after consultation with the dentist. All services under sedation will be provided in Belton. Sedation hours are based on a schedule determined by the anesthesiology group, and patients are seen consecutively with no scheduled breaks. The dentist will provide dental services on children under general anesthesia 1-2 times per month on-site using a mobile anesthesia team.
Requirements: The right candidate is a strong leader, dependable, confident, empathetic, and comfortable working on children and teens. The dentist must be able to communicate well with both young patients and parents/guardians to ensure successful visits. Experience with SDF, GI restorations, Hall crown technique, and NuSmile zirconia crowns is preferred, but training can be provided. Ideally, the dentist will be confident in a wide range of skills, including permanent extractions, root canals, and crowns to reduce need for referrals. Referral relationships are in place but are limited due to a lack of specialists who accept Missouri Medicaid.

*Registered Dental Hygienist, part-time or full-time
Reports To: Practice Manager, works under supervision of dentist
Position Summary: Cass County Dental Clinic is looking for a registered dental hygienist to join our fun and compassionate team! The right person will be dependable, hardworking, thorough, detail-oriented, and a team-player! Hygienists with a passion for working with children and/or the underserved are encouraged to apply.
The hygienist’s schedule is mostly comprised of patients ages 13-20 but sees some younger patients and pregnant women. Appointment times are as follows: 75 minutes for new patients 13-years-old or older, 60 minutes for new patient ages 7-12, 45 minutes for recall patients 7-years-old or older, and 30 minutes for all ages 3-6
Hours and Location: The hygienist will report to work at 7:45 a.m. Clinic hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with lunch from noon to 1 p.m.. Cass County Dental Clinic's primary location is 802 E. Walnut St., Belton, MO 64012 with a secondary practice location at 103 Oriole St., Harrisonville, MO 64701. Days and locations dependent upon the hygienist's availability.
Requirements: Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Oxide permit, BLS certification, MO Dental Hygiene License in good standing, 2 years dental office experience preferred, but not required

*Front Desk Coordinator, part-time
Reports To: Practice Manager
Position Summary: The front desk coordinator is responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, obtaining necessary patient information, handling patient inquiries, and other duties as delegated by the Practice Manager.
Hours and Location: Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Harrisonville clinic.
Duties & Responsibilites:
Works in collaboration with the Practice Manager to manage the patient population, including but not limited to:
- Obtains all necessary information and documentation from clinic patients
- Utilizes dental software to schedule appointments for dental services and accurately input all patient & insurance information · Verifies each patient’s insurance eligibility on the day of the scheduled appointment
- Checks patient service history and accurately documents in patient record
- Reinforces proposed dental treatment and schedules appointments based on the dentist’s treatment plan
- Uses software to monitor recall appointment reminders, makes confirmation calls, and monitors patient appointment status and history
- Accurately documents all patient contact in the patient’s record —this means updating spelling of name, confirming addresses, DOB, demographic information, insurance information to ensure accuracy once patient fills out patient registration—accuracy in information is vital!
- Ensures that all patient paperwork is filled out completely and promptly scanned into the patient chart—check that all areas and signatures have been accounted for
- Collects patient payments at time of service and maintains a balanced cash drawer
- Maintains an appropriate inventory of office supplies by properly disposing and replacing outdated products and writing list of products needed on supply lists
- Maintains all original copies of patient forms and makes copies as necessary to ensure an adequate supply (patient registration, appointment policy, etc.)
- Explains importance of maintaining appointment sequence to every patient
- Discusses complications that may result if the patient fails to complete the treatment plan
- Complies with HIPAA standards
- Translates for other staff members, when language assistance is needed · Any other duties as delegated by the Dentist or Practice Manager
Works in collaboration with the Dental Clinic Staff to ensure safety of dental clinic staff and patients, including but not limited to:
- Maintains compliance with OSHA & CDC standards
- Responsible for the maintenance & cleanliness of the front office, entryway, waiting area, and lobby restroom
- Recognizes emergency situations and follows established emergency protocols
- Any other duties as delegated by the Dentist or Practice Manager

*Dental Practice Director, full-time
Reports To: President & CEO
Position Summary: The Dental Practice Director is responsible for leading, directing, and managing the day-to-day operation of Cass County Dental Clinic (CCDC). The Director ensures that all clinic operations and community outreach programs meet the needs of the community, and that all services are delivered in an efficient, productive, and compliant manner. The position also creates partnerships in Cass County and surrounding communities by raising awareness among schools, businesses, nonprofits, and governmental entities about the importance of oral health provided by Cass County Dental Clinic
Hours & Location: The Dental Practice Director works full-time 5 days per week for a total of 40 hours per week. Although the Director’s primary office is in Cass County Dental Clinic’s NEW Belton, MO dental clinic, they will spend time offsite for networking opportunities, meetings, and other events as a Clinic representative. The Director may occasionally work from the Harrisonville clinic or the Foundation offices.
Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates oral health programs
- Develops annual revenue goals and creates the annual budget
- Drafts policies and evaluates protocols and procedures that comply with the most current accepted professional standards
- Seeks opportunities for revenue-driven, collaborative-based dental programs and services
- Oversees and prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by the Coalition, Board and Funders
- Manages and ensures compliance of employee benefit offerings including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement accounts, and continuing education allowances
- Completes provider credentialing, re-credentialing, and all provider re-verifications, updates, re-attestations, and terminations, as required by insurance plans
- Oversees Clinic asset management, including keeping current device audits as required under HIPAA, assigning numbers to new assets and equipment, as needed, communicating asset additions or removal to the Director of Finance, and completing semi-annual inventories of fixed assets, minor equipment, computers & other devices.
- Coordinates the clinic’s Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Plan using guidelines set in place by Institute of Medicine and other national quality groups
- Ensures complete and accurate recordkeeping in compliance with all organizational policies, as well as local, state, and federal laws by seeking out resources, staying up to date with compliance issues, developing policies, implementing procedures, and training staff, including but not limited to Dept. of Labor, Medicaid, Fire Safety, as well as CDC, OSHA, and HIPAA
- Responsible for OSHA and CDC Compliance, including periodic review of policies & procedures, initial and annual employee training and assignment of and documentation of compliance activities, such as Hep B vaccinations, Exposure Control Plan, Hazard Communication Plan, dental unit waterline testing, spore testing, nitrous oxide monitoring, and overseeing any remediation, as necessary
- Function as the HIPAA Compliance Officer, ensuring completion of an annual HIPAA audit, review of all Privacy & Security policies & procedures, initial; and annual employee HIPAA training, and periodic HIPAA reminders/retraining during team meetings and by sharing information via email
- Develops the Clinic’s workforce pipeline through partnerships with local dental assisting, dental hygiene, and dental schools or programs; career development opportunities through local high schools; hosting DA certificate programs, such as BLS, Nitrous Oxide, and/or Sedation courses on-site; arrange internships with partners
- Help to recruit dentists, dental hygienists, and other team members
- Hire, orient, and train Dental Practice Manager and Outreach Coordinator
- Maintains positive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Reviews and approves AP vouchers, as necessary
- Spends time in the local communities building relationships, developing patient recruitment plans and providing leadership as appropriate
- Conducts annual surveys of employee satisfaction
- Participates in onboarding for all employees to include an organizational overview/history and required HIPAA
- Represents Cass County Dental Clinic on advisory or other committees within the Cass County community
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in health care, business administration, non-profit management and 5 years of clinical operations or management experience preferred
- Experience in a community health or dental setting preferred
- Knowledge of fiscal accountability, risk management and compliance
- Familiar with Quality Assurance and must know how to implement quality measures
- Must possess strong communication, interpersonal, organization, problem-solving, writing and project management skills.
- Must be dependable, detail oriented, accurate, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Must possess computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Electronic Medical Records
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to relate with patients, community members, and health care personnel
- Should understand social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient-and employee-base.
